Commentary

Sure, it's a bit unorthodox to separate the punch line from the rest of the joke, and then put forth as funny a list of the resulting fragments. Then again, the humor team here at klugness.com doesn't shy away from unusual approaches.

You may recognize items 9 and 1 as the punch lines of blonde jokes, and items 7 and 3 as the punch lines of knock knock jokes. Most of the others are just riffs on current events.

Ah yes—the pink elephant joke (item 5). One of our writers had a classmate in eighth grade who was into these jokes, which often involved an element of misdirection. Example: "How do you kill a pink elephant?" the guy would ask. He'd pause to see if you were going to answer, and then responded, "With a pink elephant gun." Then he'd ask, "How do you kill a blue elephant?" Thinking you were getting the hang of it, you'd answer, "With a blue elephant gun?" Then he'd quip, "No, you paint it pink, then shoot it with a pink elephant gun." Hahahaha
