Commentary

Truly, the Atlanta Braves overcame several obstacles to win the 2021 World Series (including the Brewers, Dodgers, and Astros). No one expected the team with the worst record among the teams that made the playoffs to come out on top.

Even so, the hard luck stories began to seem like something that was ripe to be spoofed. So yes, we started making up several satirical obstacles that the Braves overcame, and we just couldn't stop. So one top ten list grew into two.

No, Freddie Freeman didn't get kidnapped and sent to space with Elon Musk and Ben Affleck, but talk about adversity!! And no, the Braves were not forced to rely on team mascot Blooper as a pinch hitter in Game 5 (item 1). And no, the plot of an old Brady Bunch episode that only Baby Boomers are likely to remember (item 3) didn't coincidentally come to pass.
