The germ of the idea for this comparo is "white guy with sunglasses." Allow us to explain.
Recently we came across a photo of influential billionaire Elon Musk wearing sunglasses at a November 19, 2024 SpaceX launch, and the image triggered long-ago memories of the tall, thin, clean-cut shape-shifting terminator from the 1991 movie "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." That boyish dude (played by Robert Patrick) also wore sunglasses in many scenes during the movie. Alas, the klugness site doesn't generate enough income to justify paying for expensive images, so there are no photos in this article of T-1000 or Elon Musk wearing sunglasses. So, you'll have to settle for a silly image generated by AI.
Now that Musk is making waves in his new "special government employee" gig, we decided to dig a little deeper to see whether Musk has anything in common with the fast-running cop-impersonator besides the coolio shades. In items 10 and 7, we exploited the "excitable Trump fanboy leaping at a Trump rally" motif. Item 10 involves wordplay with T-1000's liquid metal makeup, and item 7 contrasts Musk's proclivity to leap in the air at Trump rallies with T-1000's ability to run very fast.
Item 9 is a famous line that the T-1000 used when searching for John Connor, alongside a snarky joke about Musk being needy for attention. Item 5 is an amusing joke about finger gestures vs. arm gestures. Item 3 is an insult, and item 1 is a joke about Musk being rather thin-skinned. (If the site had more viewership we might feel guilty of trolling.)
Wait, wait...we're getting a message from our producers...yes, it seems they've approved extending this topic into a series. Look for Part 2 to arrive at a boutique website near you in the next few days.
