Commentary
You may find this list more amusing if you use your imagination.
For example, first you might picture Harry Potter pointing his wand and saying "Engorgio" (a charm that causes the target to swell immensely). Then pretend someone else has jumped from behind a tree, pointed his wand back at Harry, and said "Reversi!" or perhaps "Balderdash!" Sure, those are board games, but they sound like they could be spells, right? In fact, a couple of the board games (see the odd numbered items) sound so much like spells that you may have really mistaken them for Harry Potter spells (for example, "boggle" and "twilight imperium").
Funny, right? Ok, if this still doesn't seem funny, try picturing it where the person who jumped from behind the tree is pointing a chopstick instead of a wand. Yeah? Ohh, still not funny? Ok—sniff.
