Commentary

This funny top ten list makes light of the U.S. presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump that was moderated by ABC's David Muir and Linsey Davis on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Items 10 and 5 are riffs on the conspiracy theory that Kamala's earrings were being used as communication devices during the debate. Several items tackle the theme that Trump seemed angry from the moment that Kamala claimed that some of Trump's rally attendees leave the events early due to "exhaustion and boredom." Trump's angry demeanor seemingly continued for the remainder of the debate (items 9, 4, 3, and 1). Item 7 is a reference to RFK, Jr.

Item 1 is a based on a scene from a 1989 comedy movie ("Uncle Buck") in which a female elementary school principal made comments that triggered Buck Russell, the movie's main character (played by John Candy). That scene isn't really parallel to anything that happened during the debate, other than that Kamala made comments that successfully triggered Trump to lose his temper.
