Commentary

Now that over half of the filming of Stranger Things Season 5 has been completed, we are eagerly awaiting the eventual premiere of the long-awaited final season of the popular Netflix series. Being a humor site, however, the klugness.com team is focused less on behind-the-scenes photos of production and more on making up funny reasons for why it's taking so long. Doh!

Several of the items are riffs on Stranger Things plot elements (items 7, 3, and 2), while others have a "genius artist" theme (items 8 and 1), as we view Matt and Ross Duffer as being far more focused on quality/genius than on speed. A couple of items are based on current events (items 9 and 6). Item 5 is a reference to an influence on the Duffer Brothers (a Stephen King horror novel), while item 4 is a wacky reference to an old Palmolive commercial.

This is not the first time we've lamented the length of time it's taking to produce Season 5, as we published a similar top ten list (List 198) in January 2024, where the main theme was jokes about the aging of the actors. Back in November 2022 we published a whimsical, nerdy blog post about projected release dates for Stranger Things Season 5, but please note that this amusing blog post didn't take into account any actual intell about the Duffer Brothers plans for Season 5.

Hopefully this funny top ten list will give fans of Stranger Things a chuckle as we wait eagerly for Season 5 to be released.
